We were approached by a loss adjustor to install a piled cantilever needle beam scheme to the rear and side gable walls, measuring 19Lm in total. Because of the severity of the cracks and the close proximity of neighbouring trees, the works required heave protected measures.
We commenced on site only to find that the ground conditions encountered were vastly different to that of the borehole carried out previously. Following a meeting on site with the loss adjustor and architect, it was agreed that the scheme was revised to a 2.0m deep mass concrete traditional underpin solution.
Works were completed in 17 days with minimal disruption to the client’s property and gardens.
